Once you accept these terms and conditions as part of the sign-up process, they will create a legally binding contract between you and Tiree Community Gym C.I.C.
You must accept these terms if you wish to become a member of Tiree Community Gym C.I.C.
If you do not wish to be bound by
these terms you should not accept them, and your membership of the gym will not proceed.
Membership:
We offer two membership options to make the gym as accessible as possible:
(a) Standard Membership - an ongoing membership, with a 3-month minimum term (initial term); and
(b) Short Term Membership - a single monthly membership.
Regardless of which membership option you chose, you are required to become a registered member of the gym before use. Where you become a registered member you shall be bound by these and to accept these terms and conditions.
You can become a registered member and pay your membership subscription on your phone or computer at https://tireegym.clubright.co.uk/register or join in person by appointment.
You must be 13 years or older to become a registered member.
Members aged under 16 must
be always accompanied and supervised by an adult member
who is over the age of 18.
Payment of member subscription:
We do not charge a joining fee. Where you have an ongoing membership we will collect the first month's membership by Debit / Credit card at time of purchase. Thereafter your subscription will be collected monthly by Direct Debit.
Where you sign up for a single monthly membership you will pay this by Debit/Credit card at the time of purchase. This payment will not be refundable.
If any Direct Debit is returned unpaid or if any other form of payment is not honoured for whatever reason we may suspend your membership until you have paid any overdue amount. If despite us having notified you of a missed payment, further payments are missed, we may terminate your membership, upon giving you written notice of our intention to do so.
From time to time, we may need to increase the price of
membership. We will give you at least 1 full months' notice of any incoming
price increase and will make it very clear when the price increase will take
effect and how much your membership will cost after the increase. During this
period, you will have your usual right to terminate your membership. If you do
not terminate the membership by the date given to you in the notice, then the
price of your membership will be increased in accordance with our notice.
Access and inductions:
To use the gym, or to attend a gym class, even for a single session, you must become a registered member of the gym and be issued with an access PIN and/or QR code. The facility is not staffed, and you require to access the gym via our electronic entry system.
You will need to complete a Health Declaration / PARQ (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire) on joining and provide us with your personal details. You should advise us immediately of any changes to the PARQ (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire) which may mean that you should not use the gym.
Your personal details will be processed in accordance with our privacy policy https://tireegym.clubright.co.uk/privacy
You will also be required to undergo an induction with one of our approved and qualified instructors (which may take several days to organise depending on their availability) to become familiar with the equipment, the entry &
exit procedure, and gym etiquette. This will take approx. 15-60 minutes,
depending on your previous experience of gym use. If you are in any doubt, please book an induction aimed at an inexperienced user which allows more time for assistance and questions. There
is no charge for the induction but where you book an induction and fail to turn
up or cancel on less than 12 hours’ notice, we reserve the right to charge you
a fee of £10 to cover our costs.
Security of Pin and QR Code:
The pin and/or QR code is personal to you. You must keep this safe and not share it with anyone or allow anyone else to use it to access the gym (whether they are with you or not). Use of pin numbers/ QR codes are monitored in the interests of the safety and security of all our members. You may be asked to provide proof of identification.
You should use your Pin or QR Code to swipe in and out each time (even if you are with other members). This allows us to monitor the number of users in the gym at any time.
If we believe that your Pin or QR Code has been used by
another individual we may suspend your membership pending the conduct of an
investigation. If following
investigation we, acting reasonably, believe that your Pin or QR code has been used
by another individual we may either terminate your membership on giving you
written notice or charge you an access fee each time your Pin or QR code has been
used by another individual
Termination of Membership and Cancellation:
We may terminate your membership
where you fail to pay your membership subscription (See Payment of Member
Subscription) or where you allow your Pin or QR Code to be misused (See Security
of Pin/ QR Code). In addition, we may terminate your membership where you
materially breach any other provision of these terms on giving you written
notice.
Health and Safety
You must be 13 or over to use or access the gym. Members aged under 16 must be accompanied and supervised at all times by an adult member who is over the age of 18 .
You may not use any of the gym equipment until you have had an initial induction by one of our approved and qualified fitness instructors. All equipment should be used according to the instructions provided.
The gym has a maximum capacity of 10 people at any one time. You should check the app to avoid coming to the gym during busy periods to avoid overcrowding. If you arrive and there are 10 people in the gym, you may not enter the gym until one or more of them have left.
We recommend that you do not use the gym on your own, particularly if you are not an experienced gym user or are intending on lifting weights (where we recommend that you have a spotter). Whilst we have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of our members (CCTV, panic buttons) you should note that the gym and the surrounding premises are not staffed.
Please report any damage or defect to any equipment immediately by emailing tireegym@gmail.com or calling Eoghann on 07940 431 301. Do not use any equipment if it is defective or damaged.
Do not use the gym whilst under the influence of drink or drugs. The gym and surrounding premises have a strict no smoking/no vaping policy and so you should not smoke or vape in the gym or within An Talla.
Please wipe down all equipment with a sheet of damp paper tissue (sprayed with disinfectant) after use. Paper tissues/towels & disinfectant spray are provided.
Wear appropriate shoes and clothing (no flip flops, sandals, outdoor shoes, work boots etc). Please wear clean indoor trainers and leave outdoor shoes outside the gym. This helps to protect our equipment from sand. Coat hooks and shoe stands are provided outside the gym door. Any items left are left at your own risk.
By using the gym, you confirm that to the best of your
knowledge and belief you are in good health and capable of engaging in exercise.
You will advise us immediately should your circumstances change.
